BEACHWOOD PROPERTY OWNERS' ASSOCIATION
MINUTES OF THE FALL MEETING
O CTOBER 16, 2010

 

THE FALL MEETING OF THE BEACHWOOD PROPERTY OWNERS’ ASSOCIATION WAS HELD AT THE CLUBHOUSE AT 2:00 P.M. ON OCTOBER 16, 2010.

APPROXIMATELY 21 MEMBERS WERE PRESENT.

1. PRESENT CHRIS JACKSON CALLED THE MEETING TO ORDER AND MADE INTRODUCTION AND WELCOMED EVERYONE.

2. BRIAN JORDAN FROM THE HENDERSON COUNTY EMERGENCY SERVICE DISTRICT # 1 PRESENTED THE DISTRICT PROPOSAL TO INCREASE THE MAXIMUM TAX RATE CAP TO 5 CENT FROM 3 CENTS. THIS PROPOSAL IS TO BE VOTED ON NOVEMBER 2.

3. RAYMOND CARTER GAVE THE FINANCIAL REPORT AND DISTRIBUTED COPIES OF THE FINANCIALS FROM APRIL- OCTOBER AND THE BUDGET FOR 2010. HE REVIEWED THE INCOME AND EXPENSES FOR THE YEAR

4. CHRIS JACKSON THE OPERATIONS FOR THE YEAR. THE MAJOR PROJECT THIS YEAR WAS THE $72,500 ROAD CONSTRUCTION.

5. GARY PETRAS REPORTED ON ACC ACTIVITY.

6. THE NOMINATING COMMITTEE NAMED ROBIN LINDER TO FILL THE DIRECTOR POSITION. MOTION WAS MADE TO ELECT ROBIN BY UNANIMOUS VOTE.

7. CHRIS JACKSON DISCUSSED THE WATER AND SEWER RATES AND THE RECENT SALE OF THE PUBLIC COMPANY TO A PRIVATE COMPANY. HE ALSO DISCUSSED THE ACTIVITIES OF THE T.A.M.E.R GROUP WHICH IS THE GROUP THAT OPPOSE THE RATE INCREASES THAT ARE EXPECTED IN EARLY 2011. THE GROUP DEPENDS ON CONTRIBUTIONS FROM MEMBERS TO FUND THE LEGAL AND OTHER EXPENSES OF THE GROUP. HE SAID THAT IF EACH MEMBER COULD CONTRIBUTE $25.00 IT WOULD GIVE THEM TO FUNDS REQUIRED TO FIGHT THE RATE INCREASE.

8. THE CHRISTMAS SEASON PARTY DATE WAS SCHEDULED FOR DECEMBER 11, 2010.
