BEACHWOOD PROPERTY OWNERS' ASSOCIATION
MINUTES OF SPRING MEETING
MAY 20, 2006

 

THE SPRING MEETING OF THE BEACHWOOD PROPERTY OWNERS’ ASSOCIATION WAS HELD AT THE CLUBHOUSE AT 2:00 PM ON MAY 20, 2006. APPROXIMATELY 90 MEMBERS WERE PRESENT.

1. THE MEETING WAS CALLED TO ORDER BY ROGER OWEN AT 2:20 PM. ROCKY WEATHERFORD OFFERED A PRAYER TO OPEN THE MEETING.

2. RAYMOND CARTER GAVE THE FINANCIAL REPORT.

3. DAN PALM GAVE THE ROAD REPORT.

SECTION D, DEER RUN AND A PORTION OF DOGWOOD WERE COVERED WITH CALECHE AND RIVER ROCK.
SECTION OF BEACHWOOD LOOP WEST, BEACHSIDE DRIVE AND FRONT ENTRANCE WERE PAVED WITH ASPHALT.
NEXT YEAR PLAN IS TO PAVE TWO CUL-D- SACS.

IT WAS SUGGESTED THAT ANYONE WANTING TO GIVE INPUT ON NEEDED PAVING ATTEND A BOARD MEETING.

AREAS OF CONCERN WERE DISCUSSED, DRAINAGE PROBLEM AT CORNER OF DEER RUN AND MORNING DOVE, TREES NEED TRIMMING ALONG ROADS AND CLUBHOUSE/ BOAT RAMP APPROACH.

4. EXCESSIVE SPEEDING WAS REPORTED, ROGER ADVISED US TO GET LICENSE # OF SPEEDERS AND HE WILL TALK TO THEM. HE WILL ALSO TALK TO YOUNGSTERS ABOUT DRIVING GOLF CARTS.

5. GARY PETRAS GAVE REPORT FOR ACC. HE REMINDED EVERYONE THAT A PERMIT IS REQUIRED FOR CHANGES TO OUTSIDE OF THE STRUCTURES. NORMAL MAINTENANCE IS ENCOURAGED AND PERMIT IS NOT REQUIRED. HE ALSO REMINDED US THAT HEAVY TRUCKS MUST USE THE BACK GATE. HE THANKED ALL THE VOLUNTEERS WH HELPED ON THE MANY PROJECTS. TWO HOUSES AND A GARAGE REPLACEMENT ARE UPCOMING. THE WATER/SEWER COMPANY PLANS A NEW UPDATED SEWER PLANT AT THE CURRENT LOCATION.

6. ROGER MENTIONED THE WORK DONE ON THE CLUBHOUSE, TERMINATE TREATMENT, CHIMNEY LEVELING, RENOVATION OF BATHROOMS, NEW FURNITURE AND CUSHIONS. SWIMMING POOL IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. CLUBHOUSE RENTAL FEE FOR UTILITIES IS $ 40.00/DAY WITH A $ 100.00 CASH DEPOSIT REQUIRED FOR DAMAGE AND OR EXTRA CLEANING.

7. JOE MAY ASKED FOR THANKS TO THE BOARD AND VOLUNTEER WORKERS. ROGER PRESENTED PLAQUES TO JIM McKEE, CAROL MIEGER AND SAM CAROTHERS FOR THEIR SERVICES ON THE BOARD, TO WAYNE FITE FOR TWELVE YEARS IN MAINTENANCE AND TO GARY PETRAS FOR MANY HOURS OF VOLUNTEER WORK.

8. THERE WAS DISCUSSION ON THE MOTION FOR $3.00 PER MONTH INCREASE IN AMA DUES AND $6.00 PER MONTH GARBAGE FEE FOR EACH HOUSE, EFFECTIVE APRIL 1, 2006.

THE MOTION FOR THE AMA INCREASE WAS PASSED BY VOTE OF 106.5 TO 40.5.
THE MOTION FOR THE GARBAGE FEE WAS PASSED BY VOTE OF 90 TO 51.

9. A REQUEST WAS MADE TO ALLOW EARLY VOTING, THE DEED RESTRICTIONS AND BY-LAWS DOES NOT PROVIDE FOR EARLY VOTING.

10. A GARAGE SALE WILL BE HELD THE SAME DAY OF THE MAY GENERAL MEETING NEXT YEAR.

11. GARY PETRAS MADE A MOTION WITH A SECOND BY LARRY HART TO ADJOURN THE MEETING. THE MOTION PASSED.
